Linda Miller-deBerard
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I hate divorce. It is the second most stressful event a person can go through besides death. After working in a law office I became aware that traditional divorce as designed by attorneys causes much more damage to families than is necessary because of the process attorneys are trained in. Remember that the more you fight, the more they make. That's why I became a trained mediator. I helped design an early mediation process that helps you make decisions for your family instead of letting strangers make decisions for you. Even if you decide to end your marriage, remember that if you have children you will always be tied together. My specialty is helping couples learn safe communication so they continue to make decisions and co-parent in a healthy way. The truth is it's not divorce that damages children, it is antagonism and animosity between parents during divorce that causes the damage. Don't let this happen to your children. If your considering or going through a divorce get the help you need to keep you and your children emotionally healthy.
