They commonly are from past abuse, trauma and poor attachments stemming from childhood. This will take much work to explore past dynamics and resolve past traumas. Talk therapy alone is not effective. Otherwise, anyone could simply say to just change who you are and that would happen, but that does not work. Our goal is to make lasting and desired changes to promote healthy relationships and positive interactions. Change is possible.
