Feeling sad, lost, and hopeless can feel overwhelming. When life gets hard, it is best not to journey alone. There is hope for those who struggle with depression. IFS and EMDR provide effective ways of engaging with those parts of us that drive depression and need care and support. Exploring mindfulness practices and self-care skills can also help with overcoming depression. I would like to support you as you discover ways to find relief from sadness.
I enjoy working with individuals experiencing depression who also have an intellectual/developmental disability or have a family member with a disability. Living with a disability or caring for someone with a disability changes your perspective or the lens through which you view life. We will learn to challenge the thoughts that come from that lens as our thoughts are what influence how we feel or experience symptoms like depression or anxiety. If our thoughts change then so will the corresponding emotions and therefore actions or behaviors.
As a current full time Crisis Clinician, I am have a strong understanding about what supports can be put into place to assist with helping individuals with depression use CBT to reduce symptoms. As a certified personal trainer, I am also qualified to write workout plans to use movements to alleviate symptoms.

The use of art and sand also helps many process their feelings and their situation in a more comfortable way. I also use Cofnitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and strategies to increase awareness around your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and implement ways to challenge and improve your wellbeing.
