Delafield, Wisconsin therapist: Lisa Herpolsheimer, licensed clinical social worker
Self Psychology

Lisa Herpolsheimer

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CCTP-II, C-DBT
My therapeutic style is warm, genuine and engaging; I am well known for my natural ability to build a collaborative, effective, and deeply meaningful therapeutic relationship with my clients. I have 25 years of experiencing providing psychotherapy, and my specialty area is working with emotionally sensitive persons who have difficulty regulating and managing emotions. Most often, the clients I work with have more than one mental health concern at a time that they are seeking treatment for, and they are in need of an advanced-trained specialist due to multiple clinically complex needs. I work with Teens ages 14-18, Young Adults 18-25, and Adults 26 and Over. I provide therapy services either in-person at our beautiful historic Delafield, Wisconsin location at the Wise Mind DBT & CBT Center, or via Secure and Private Telehealth Services. Therapy sessions with me are a blend of therapeutic processing (with a client-centered/strengths-based perspective), which I combine with teaching you the transformative Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (DBT) that are relevant to your life in the here and now. The DBT Skills and CBT-Based Techniques that I utilize are designed to help alleviate suffering from emotion regulation/high emotional sensitivity problems, Borderline Personality Disorder, Mood disorders including Anxiety, Depression, and OCD, in addition to other co-occurring mental health disorders. I also provide care to persons with ADHD / neurodivergence care needs. I am advanced-trained and certified to provide effective and compassionate care for persons seeking to recover from psychological trauma, including PTSD and Complex PTSD. You will experience both supportive and validating care in session, while also learning and practicing deeply powerful skills to help you safely manage and experience your emotions. My aim is to provide transformative and effective care for your mental heath symptoms, thus preparing you to take on life's challenges more effectively as they arise in your life out of session. My goal for you is that you Build A Life Worth Living: a life that is meaningful and rewarding for you, a life that brings you peace, joy, and confidence in your resiliency all along the way. Working with me, you will become more able to deeply explore your emotions, learn to gently broaden your perspective on troubling situations, you will be able to access your inherent wisdom and insight into the patterns you have observed in your life, and will develop a renewed sense of confidence and hopefulness as you recover and re-discover your ability to reach the personal life goals that you may have thought were just too far out of reach for you until now. I would be honored to Walk Alongside You on your recovery journey! I also provide a FREE and in-depth Clinical Consultation Call for persons interested in starting therapy with me. The fastest and easiest way to get in contact with me to schedule your free consultation call is to TEXT message me directly, on my private and password-protected secure mobile phone at: (262) 744-5201. Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist, Nationally Registered Health Service Provider
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to create meaningful, measurable change in how they feel, function, and relate to others. My approach is evidence-based, empathic, and solution-focused, with therapy centered on helping you achieve clear goals so that progress is noticeable in daily life. I work with a wide range of concerns—including anxiety, low mood, loss, self-doubt, and life transitions—and have particular expertise in performance psychology, public speaking anxiety, panic attacks, fear of flying, and questions of purpose or meaning. If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right next step, I also offer a one-time consultation assessment to help clarify what may be contributing to your current stress and identify effective pathways forward, whether through therapy or other strategies.

New York City, New York therapist: Michael Brustein, psychologist
Self Psychology

Michael Brustein

Psychologist, Psy.D
Often, perfectionistic and high-striving individuals are both curious about therapy and ambivalent about seeking it. They may feel excited by the possibility of understanding themselves more deeply, while also unsettled by the idea of asking for help with one’s own mind. For people who are used to being competent, self-reliant, and in control, therapy can feel exposing at first. Michael helps clients understand this hesitation not as resistance, but as part of the work itself: the wish to grow alongside the fear of needing anything at all. Many clients become more comfortable once they see that therapy is not simply about “talking about feelings,” but about learning to observe the mind with more honesty and precision. Therapy becomes a disciplined space for reflection, which itself can be a powerful tool for developing emotional clarity, self-awareness, and greater freedom in how one responds to pressure, relationships, and oneself. Michael is also attentive to the ways thoughtful, high-striving people can use insight, analysis, mindfulness, or even spiritual ideas to move around painful emotional material rather than through it. When this pattern is noticed early, it can be addressed directly and compassionately, helping therapy remain grounded, emotionally honest, and clinically useful.

Milwaukee is one of the most racially segregated cities in the United States, and the mental health effects of systemic inequality, concentrated poverty, and community violence disproportionately affect its Black residents — driving demand for culturally affirming and trauma-informed therapists. The city has a strong Polish, German, and working-class heritage in many of its neighborhoods, and therapists frequently address intergenerational family dynamics, addiction, and depression tied to economic stress. Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin provide major institutional mental health resources alongside community-based providers. Milwaukee's proximity to Chicago means some residents also access care in the broader metro corridor.
