While my primary focus as a therapist to support and counsel, I always strive to achieve these goals by being a real person. I work hard to balance accountability, respect, humour and healing so that therapy can be something that we look forward to. I want to remove as much of the fluff from the therapeutic process and work as much honesty and integrity as possible and that is something that is reflected and felt in our sessions. I work with and affirm folks from all walks of life and from all identities as long as there is a willingness to show up.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Self Psychology Explores the development of self-esteem and identity. It emphasizes the importance of empathy in healing.
Approach Description: I draw from training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Individual Training (EFIT) to form a comprehensive and specific approach to the issues you are facing. I believe very genuinely in the concepts of holism and intersectionality which to me means that every person possesses the tools they need, it is just a matter of finding and developing them. I feel as though there is a lot of talk about ‘walking beside’ the client as a therapist but I have always felt that my approach is better described as my climbing inside your head so that I can experience alongside you. Whether this means existential questioning or developing actionable plans to resolve issues I am interested in co-authoring with my clients so that whatever change is accomplished can be sustained and meaningful.

Therapy can be so many different things and can fill different needs in different moments. As a therapist I am focused primarily on the intersections of trauma and neurodivergence but as a person I am driven by my values, hard work, honesty and character. I tend to approach the therapeutic relationship from an interest in solidarity and collaboration. My work is grounded contemporary trauma-informed practices but the part of counselling that makes me most excited are the moments of shared understanding. My own life experience has shown me that support without understanding can feel empty and undignified and as such I strive to
