Therapy, at its best, is a space where you can slow down, turn inward, and begin to understand yourself more fully. My role is to walk alongside you in that process — with honesty, care, and deep respect for your experience. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach draws from CBT, ACT, trauma-focused therapy, and existential therapy, always tailored to what feels most useful for you. But more than any particular method, I believe healing happens through genuine connection — when you feel truly seen and understood. Together, we'll explore the patterns, emotions, and beliefs that shape how you move through the world. We'll build practical tools where you need them, and make space for the deeper questions when those matter more. My hope is that our work helps you relate to yourself with greater compassion, and to your life with greater clarity and intention.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine collaboration — not something done to you, but something built with you. I bring curiosity, warmth, and honesty to our work, and I'll adapt to what you actually need rather than fitting you into a fixed method. At the heart of my approach is the belief that meaningful change comes through connection and self-understanding. Together we'll create space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences — and to notice the patterns that may be quietly shaping your life in ways you haven't yet seen.

Dr. Trey Cole Practice Description
Therapy is an invitation — to be vulnerable, take risks, and see yourself more clearly. It's a place to examine the meanings you've made of your experiences, uncover the patterns quietly shaping your life, and find new ways of relating to yourself and the people around you. Real change, in my view, doesn't come from techniques alone — it grows out of a relationship built on trust, curiosity, and genuine understanding. I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, relational difficulties, and experiences related to psychosis or schizophrenia. Whatever you're carrying, I'll meet you where you are — without judgment, and with a real commitment to understanding your world on your terms. Our work together will be collaborative and led by what matters most to you. Growth looks different for everyone, and so does the path to get there.
