You deserve therapy that already gets you, not therapy where you spend half the hour explaining yourself. I'm Sarah, a queer, neurodivergent, non-monogamous, kink-informed LICSW with 14 years of experience, and I created Courageous You for people whose full selves have sometimes felt like too much for the therapy room. My specialties are Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Somatic EMDR therapy - deeply supported, body-informed approaches that can help when trauma, depression, burnout, or long-held patterns just haven't shifted through talk therapy alone. I share these communities and identities myself, so you truly won't have to translate your life for me.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Hakomi Method A mindfulness-based approach that helps clients notice unconscious patterns in their body and mind. It emphasizes compassion and non-judgment.
- Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Combines low doses of ketamine with psychotherapy to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety. It can provide relief when other methods haven’t worked.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: A little about me: I'm Sarah Wolfer, LICSW, with 14 years of clinical experience. My training includes certification in Somatic EMDR, Gottman Levels 1 and 2, Emotionally Focused Therapy, parts work, and a year-long psychedelic-assisted therapy training program through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. I've been offering KAP since 2022 and it remains the work I feel most called to; the kind of deep, expansive healing that opens doors that have felt stuck for a long time. If any of this sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd love to offer a free 15-minute consultation.

Courageous You is a fully virtual therapy practice serving adults in Washington, Idaho, and Florida. Here's what makes it a little different from most practices you'll find. The centerpiece of my work is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (and I mean psychotherapy centered, not just medicine centered). What that means practically is that before we ever have a ketamine experience, we build a real therapeutic relationship. We spend time in preparation sessions getting your nervous system steady, clarifying your intentions, and making sure you feel fully held going in. During medicine sessions I'm with you via telehealth, present and attuned. And afterward, the integration work is where a lot of the real magic happens; making meaning of what came up, translating it into your actual life, and helping the shifts you felt actually stick. I partner with Journey Clinical for all medical oversight, screening, and prescription management, which means you have a licensed medical provider involved in your care at every stage. You'll also receive a curated KAP kit delivered to your home, access to a private online resource portal, and a 200+ page printed workbook designed to support you before, during, and after the medicine work. It's a comprehensive container, not just a session here and there. For people who aren't ready for KAP or are looking for something different, I also offer Somatic EMDR therapy, individual therapy, and relationship therapy for people and relationships of all configurations. Somatic EMDR is particularly powerful for trauma that lives in the body, especially the kind that talking about hasn't been enough to shift. And relationship therapy at Courageous You is both non-monogamy and kink-informed, which means your relationship structure, whatever it looks like, is treated as valid from the start.
