My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. We can explore what you are experiencing, build on your strengths, and choose manageable steps that fit your goals and everyday life.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: We will decide together what you want counseling to help with and revisit that direction as your needs change. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy to explore how thoughts, feelings, and actions interact; person-centered therapy to keep your experience and choices central; solution-focused work to identify useful next steps; and motivational interviewing to explore ambivalence about change. A strengths-based perspective makes room for the abilities and resources you already have. My behavior technician experience and ABA training inform my attention to practical skills and everyday patterns. If you want Christian faith included, we can discuss how to bring your values into our work at your request.
