Post-pandemic life is certainly a new normal. I notice many people are having trouble adjusting to the changes, and cannot quite return to the life they used to know. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I am happy to help you connect to your self, improve your functioning, determine your next moves, and move past any fears or insecurities that are holding you back. I specialize in LGBTQ+ populations, trauma recovery, improving attachment issues, and overcoming depression and anxiety. My preferred modalities are EFT, CBT, ACT, IFS, and SE.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach varies depending on my clients' presenting problem and personality. I use empirically-supported treatments for a wide range of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, specific trauma, relationship/attachment dynamics, and gender exploration/transition. Depending on your needs, we may focus on behavioural modification, cognitive restructuring, mind-body connection, moving through and releasing emotion, building mental flexibility, or psychoeducation and guidance.

One of my biggest specializations is gender therapy. I assist people in discovering and expressing their gender identity, overcoming trauma related to living in the wrong gender, coming out, and transitioning medically and socially. I have many years' experience writing letters of recommendation for hormones and surgery and can assist you in determining which option fits your needs. I am aware of my gatekeeping role and try to maintain a collaborative exchange and empower my clients, while ascertaining that all outcomes have been considered and my clients are well-informed about gender transition.
