Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychosocial Therapy Looks at how social and environmental factors affect psychological health. It emphasizes relationships, community, and resilience.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I have been where you are now, and receiving coaching helped me through burnout and career change. With my expertise as a coach, my approach to counselling is a bit different. Rather than acting as an expert, I’ll collaborate with you, asking powerful questions to help you figure out the answers for yourself. The right thinking partner can help you see obstacles and goals in a new light. Your stuckness will start to loosen, a glimmer of hope will emerge and the path forward will look clearer. We will work together to create a vision of what a more sustainable, fulfilling career would look like for you. Then we will create a doable action plan so you can get there, one small step at a time.
You can get through this with the right support and I’d feel honoured to provide that support. I provide counselling or coaching. If you’re interested in a blended service, I can provide solution-focused counselling, which is what coaching is primarily based on. During the free consultation, we will work together to determine which approach would best meet your needs and preferences. Reach out anytime to learn more. I’d love to hear from you!

We will begin by assessing your values, strengths and/or life purpose. As you explore possible career paths, values, strengths and purpose can provide a compass, helping you choose the path that's right for you. I will help you weigh the pros and cons of various options. If needed, we can complete career matching quizzes at this stage.
Staying in your current role or field is always an option, but we can work together to make it more sustainable. We will address confidence issues or other barriers so you can start setting healthier boundaries and creating more work-life balance.
Every session, we’ll collaborate to create some doable action steps that you’ll complete between sessions. This builds momentum and motivation, so you keep moving forward. If you feel stuck now or during counselling/coaching, we will uncover what’s getting in your way and what to do about it.
Having the right support can make all the difference. Reach out anytime to learn more. I’d love to hear from you!
