Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: I have an eclectic approach, which is a fancy way of saying that I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. My style is direct and strengths-based, balancing accountability with compassion. Most importantly, I believe that authenticity is a key component of therapy and that therapy shouldn’t feel robotic. I am a real person with real experiences, and I show up as my authentic self in the therapy room, just like I want all of my clients to feel comfortable doing. I also have formal training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT).

Therapy Sessions Ashley Lynn Practice Description
When I was starting Mental Bloom Therapy, I wanted it to be more than just another therapy practice, especially with so many big box therapy companies popping up whose focus is typically not on what truly matters. I imagined a place where people could truly heal, grow, and thrive. A place where you can show up as you are and feel valued. I know that seeking help is one of the hardest things to do, and how uncomfortable and scary starting therapy can be. That’s why one of my main goals with Mental Bloom Therapy is to make the process as comfortable as possible, making sure you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way so that you can focus on what matters most: you.
