I work collaboratively with clients to slow things down and become more aware of what is happening in the present moment—emotionally, mentally, physically, and relationally. Together, we explore the patterns that tend to repeat: how you protect yourself, where you pull away or push too hard, and what may be underneath those reactions. I view emotions less as problems to eliminate and more as meaningful signals about what matters, what feels threatening, and what you may need. Therapy can help you develop a clearer, more grounded relationship with your experience so that your choices become less automatic and more aligned with how you want to live.

Treatment Approach

  • Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is experiential, contemplative, humanistic, person-centered, and integrative. I see therapy as a collaborative process of becoming more curious about your experience and the patterns shaping your life. Much of our work involves slowing things down enough to notice what is happening emotionally, physically, relationally, and internally, while exploring what difficult emotions may be communicating about what you care about, fear, protect, or long for. By developing greater awareness and the capacity to stay present with difficult or uncertain experiences, therapy can create more freedom and choice in how you relate to yourself, other people, and the things that matter most to you.

Chris Davis Practice Description
Many of the people I work with are functioning well on the surface but feel stuck, disconnected, or dissatisfied with the direction of their lives. They may understand themselves intellectually yet still find themselves caught in familiar patterns of overthinking, avoidance, emotional withdrawal, or pushing themselves too hard. I help clients create movement by understanding these patterns, staying more present with the emotions that arise during change, and developing a clearer sense of what matters to them. I work with adults of all genders, with particular experience helping men build stronger relationships with their emotions and more genuine connections with others.
