Devon Davasher (He/Him)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CCM, CFSW, Master ART Practitioner
 therapist: Devon Davasher,
Online in Multiple States Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma (Online Only)
I became a therapist because I needed one. I lost my mom when I was 18, and in the years that followed I struggled with anxiety and depression and reached for whatever would take the edge off. When I finally sat down with a therapist, it changed my life. Not because it fixed everything right away, but because for the first time I had a space to say the things I had never said out loud. As a gay man, I know what it is like to carry parts of yourself quietly for longer than you should have had to. That lived experience shapes how I show up in the room. Affirming care is not something I do. It is something I live.

Treatment Approach

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) A trauma-focused therapy that uses eye movements and imagery to help the brain reframe distressing memories. It often leads to quicker relief from symptoms compared to traditional talk therapy.
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Biofeedback / Neurofeedback Teaches people to control body or brain activity using real-time monitoring. It’s often used for stress, anxiety, ADHD, and migraines.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is warm, affirming, and practical. I draw from ACT, trauma-informed CBT, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help clients understand their patterns, reduce distress, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and authentic. I aim to balance insight with concrete change so therapy feels both emotionally meaningful and genuinely helpful.

Devon Davasher Practice Description
I hold credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Financial Social Worker (CFSW), and Master ART Practitioner with 13 years of clinical experience. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am a Certified STAR Provider, trained specifically to support military personnel and veterans. My primary specialty is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach developed by an EMDR-trained therapist that processes trauma without requiring you to relive every painful detail. ART combines elements of CBT, Gestalt therapy, and brief psychodynamic therapy alongside eye movements and imagery. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, always tailored to you. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, identity questions, life transitions, and relationship stress. I have a particular passion for queer and gender-diverse clients, people questioning their identity, and family members learning to support a loved one coming out. I am kink-aware and poly-affirming. I also work with veterans, older adults, and anyone who has felt they had to hide parts of themselves to survive. I see everything through a trauma-informed lens and practice unconditional positive regard. I take a harm reduction approach to substance use and believe in personal autonomy. I am direct when the moment calls for it and use humor in therapy when it helps, because therapy does not always have to be grim to be effective. Outside the therapy room you will find me captaining my adult kickball team, hustling at card games, camping, swimming, and eating my way through new cities. All genres but a soft spot for rock and metal, travel whenever I can, and I will not pretend I am not excellent at Fortnite. I believe in play, rest, and joy as part of a full life and I try to bring that same energy into sessions. Ready to take the first step? I offer a free 15-minute consultation. Reach out today.
