I am a Counselling Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist with over 15 years' experience of working psychotherapeutically.
I am not a silent or blank-screen therapist. I am present in the relationship as myself and, where it may be useful, share my responses to what you bring. I am on your side, and part of being on your side is being willing to challenge you.
I work particularly with people who are capable and successful in many areas of their lives but find relationships, their inner experience, or the gap between how their life looks and how it feels more difficult to navigate.
My aim is to help you know and trust yourself more fully and develop more satisfying relationships in which you can bring more of who you are.

Treatment Approach
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach is relational, integrative and psychodynamically informed. I am interested in how earlier experiences and relationships shape the way you experience yourself, other people and the world today, while recognising that we are also shaped by the families, cultures and wider contexts in which we live.
Talking and understanding are important, but they are not always enough to create change. I therefore pay attention not only to what you think and say, but also to emotions, patterns that emerge between us and, where useful, your embodied experience.
My training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy informs this aspect of my work. We may sometimes pay more direct attention to bodily responses, particularly when experiences are difficult to access through words alone. This is always collaborative rather than something you are expected to do.

Many of the people I work with function very well in the outside world but feel less secure or fulfilled on the inside. They may have successful careers, friendships and relationships, yet struggle with self-criticism, loneliness, emotional disconnection or a persistent sense that something is missing.
Relationships are a significant part of my work. You may find it difficult to meet or trust a partner, become anxious once a relationship matters, lose yourself in relationships, or find yourself repeating patterns you understand but cannot seem to change. I also work with people facing relationship crises, infidelity, separation or divorce.
I am particularly interested in the emotional cost of having learnt to be highly independent and capable. For some people this developed within their family; for others, boarding school or highly academic environments reinforced the importance of resilience, achievement and intellectual ability while leaving less room for emotional awareness, vulnerability or needing other people. You may have learnt that things should come easily if you are genuinely capable, or feel that you constantly need to prove yourself.
I also work with people navigating loss, major life transitions, questions of identity and belonging, or the impact of living within families, cultures or communities whose expectations do not comfortably accommodate who they are.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or what needs to change. We can begin with what brings you to therapy now and develop our understanding together.
