Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
Approach Description: My treatment approach is integrative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and transform unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills.
When appropriate, I incorporate EMDR to help clients safely process trauma and distressing memories. I also use hypnotherapy to access deeper emotional patterns, strengthen positive beliefs, reduce anxiety, improve confidence, and support meaningful behavioral change. Hypnotherapy is introduced collaboratively and used according to each client’s comfort, readiness, and therapeutic goals.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) helps clients develop present-moment awareness and a healthier relationship with recurring thoughts and emotions. My work is also grounded in multicultural and person-centered principles, honoring each client’s identity, values, cultural background, life experiences, and inner strengths.
I may also integrate elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Object Relations Therapy to explore attachment needs, unresolved emotions, relationship patterns, and the lasting influence of early experiences.
Together, we work toward deeper self-understanding, emotional healing, healthier relationships, and positive changes that endure.

Dr. Namjoo helps clients transform self-criticism into self-compassion, fear into inner security, and painful patterns into healthier choices. Her purpose is not to tell clients who they should become, but to help them reconnect with their authentic selves, reclaim their personal power, and create positive changes that endure.
