Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, Psychotherapist, & Psychoanalytic Candidate
Parenting is a rewarding yet complex journey. As a psychoanalytic therapist, I understand that your own upbringing and unconscious dynamics can influence one's parenting style. Together we can explore how your past experiences might be shaping your present interactions with your child. By bringing these unconscious patterns to light you can build a stronger connection with your child, and subsequently foster empathy, effective communication, and a more fulfilling parenting experience.
Parenting isn't easy. Although there are many books and podcasts on the subject, with therapy I can help can unpack where you learned how to parent, and update that education to fit your individual childrens needs.
Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience. We help navigate each developmental stage of parenting, from infancy to young adulthood. We teach skills and techniques to address the challenges associated with parenting to allow you to bond with your child and feel confident in your parenting style.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have been practicing for 45 years. I work with my clients in an interactive way helping them to find real world solutions to their issues and problems.
Parenting and co-parenting are vital to healthy families and yet we don't grow up taking classes or receiving formal instruction on how to do it! Parenting work dives into these uncharted waters. I use an approach called reflective parenting that helps shift around common perspectives in order to build awareness of children's experiences. As well, I help parents redefine the family boundaries in ways that are stronger and safer for all.
I have worked with children and families (as well as raising three myself) and I provide common sense information and advice for the typical difficulties of parenting.
I also work with parents of children with special needs, as that is a very different experience.
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, LPCC, I CADC II
While the often used "it takes a village" might seem like a cliché, it is a truism that warrants respect. The lifespan of parenting is best shared with others, to be able to help nurture the love and attachment, guidance and protection are goals worth pursing in the therapeutic alliance.
