Laura Fleming (She/Her)
Pre-Licensed Professional, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

(Online Only)
I bring my real-life experience into my work as a therapist. I’m a mom, a military spouse, and someone who understands anxiety—including postpartum anxiety—not just clinically, but personally. I’ve spent years working with children with special needs and their families, which has deeply shaped how I view emotional health, caregiving, and resilience.
I believe therapy works best when evidence-based tools are paired with compassion, emotional depth, and practicality. My goal is to help you understand the root of what you’re experiencing—not just manage surface level symptoms—so visible, lasting change can happen. I’m especially passionate about working with parents and caregivers, because when adults take care of themselves and their relationships, the impact on children is beautiful and significant. If you’re looking for therapy that feels genuine and grounded in real life, I’d love to help you.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: I work from an emotionally-focused approach, meaning we slow down and pay attention to what your emotions are trying to tell you. Rather than only treating symptoms like anxiety, stress, or conflict, we look at the deeper patterns, fears, and unmet needs underneath them. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you change how you relate to your thoughts—without trying to control or eliminate them—so you can take meaningful, values-based steps toward what really matters to you.
