You might be someone who has done a lot of inner work already. You understand your patterns, you’ve reflected deeply, and yet something still feels stuck — in your body, your relationships, or your creative life.
I work with highly sensitive, creative individuals who are often over-functioning on the outside but carrying a quieter sense of overwhelm, disconnection, or burnout within. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, trauma, relational wounds, or creative blocks, and are looking for a kind of therapy that goes beyond coping skills into something more meaningful and lasting.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in deep listening. I’m trained in psychodynamic therapy and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, which means we pay attention not only to your thoughts and experiences, but also to the subtle, body-based knowing that often holds the next step forward. Rather than rushing insight or forcing change, we create space for something more organic to unfold.
I believe healing happens in a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, curious enough to listen inward, and supported enough to be exactly where you are. From there, change tends to come in ways that feel more integrated, more sustainable, and more like your own.

Treatment Approach
- Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: The therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic depth therapy and integrates mindfulness, trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy.
This integrative model explores how early relationships and unconscious patterns shape present-day experiences, while also supporting embodied, lasting change.
A central part of the work is Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, a gentle, body-based approach that helps clients access the “felt sense” — the subtle, internal knowing that exists beneath words. Rather than rushing insight or forcing change, therapy creates space to slow down, turn inward, and listen to what is already there.
This process often allows emotions, meanings, and insights to emerge organically, leading to greater clarity, emotional relief, and forward movement.
Fees & Insurance
Fees
- Average Session Fee $180
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- Carey Counseling is a private-pay practice, and a limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients who need more accessible fee options. These openings are designed to support individuals who are committed to therapy but may be navigating financial constraints. Sliding scale availability is based on current caseload and is typically offered to those experiencing financial hardship, reduced income, or transitional life circumstances. Because these spots are limited, they may not always be available, and a waitlist may be used when they are full. This option is intended to help increase access to depth-oriented, trauma-informed therapy while still honoring the sustainability of private practice work. Sliding scale clients receive the same level of care, presence, and therapeutic approach as all other clients. Carey Counseling also accepts FSA and HSA payments. While insurance is not billed directly, superbills can be provided upon request for clients who choose to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. If you are interested in a sliding scale spot, you are welcome to inquire during the consultation process to learn about current availability.

I specialize in working with highly sensitive, female-identifying creatives and high-functioning individuals who often appear capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or disconnected internally.
Many clients seek support for anxiety, relational burnout, attachment wounds, complex or developmental trauma, grief, chronic stress, or creative blocks. While many have insight into their patterns, they often sense that something deeper has not yet shifted. Therapy with me is designed for that layer of experience — where insight alone is not enough, and the body and nervous system must be included in the healing process.
