Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: First step to helping you is doing my intake assessment, recording your treatment goals, and explaining how I plan to help you get there. Then, the next few sessions focuses on rapport building and making you feel comfortable with me. Why? Rapport is crucial before we tackle making changes. Then what? The interventions begin! I begin becoming inquisitive, making interpretations of the context you share, challenge you, while providing ample empathy. My interventions are all timed really well because I first allow you freely associate, which means talk as long as you can without interrupting you. Then, I ask you very thoughtful questions or interpret what you just said. Step by step, you are able to think deeper about yourself in a way that works towards your goals and your relationships. Naturally, as you work on yourself, your relationships can begin to flourish. A lot of my clients who are a great match go on to reducing therapy and do what I call, “graduating from therapy”.

I want to start off by saying, I love what I do! I bring a natural positive energy into my work. I am attuned to your pace of change yet I challenge you when I feel you are ready for it. I am dedicated to helping clients work on their symptom relief through delving deeper to the root of their struggles by building insight! With all the interventions I bring, the most important factor of change is the relationship factor between a therapist and clients. So, being a match is key!
