Kimberly Davidson | Katalyst Integrated Trauma Treatment

Counsellor/Therapist, RCS, MTC, RTC, SEP, CCTP, CCISM, CFRC, CATP, NARM
Hi, my name is Kimberly. As I worked to heal my own trauma, I worked with several well meaning counsellors and therapists, who really didn't know or understand how to work with complex or developmental trauma. At worst, I was further hurt by their efforts to help me, at best it fuelled me to go back to school to get the education needed to fit this gap, for those who may need help in these areas as well. The impact of developmental & complex trauma on a person is enormous and impacts the entire person and all aspects of their lives. There isn't an area of your life that cannot be improved by healing your trauma. I work efficiently and thoroughly, as you have been through enough. Healing shouldn't be harder or longer than what you have already been through.

Counsellor/Therapist, MCP, RCC (Registered Clinical Counsellor)
I believe we all have the innate ability and strength to grow. For some of us, our life circumstances can temporarily stifle our growth and block our path to self-discovery. We can often use a companion during these challenging times, someone who can shine a light on a dark path that is often lonely to travel solo on.

I find clients are looking to understand themselves, to find reasons they struggle the way they do, and discover how they got where they are. We've all been influenced by our experiences, whether good or bad. Good healthy experiences give us the tools and confidence to navigate life, but what happens when our experiences have been far from good? A child experiencing abuse, trauma, loss, and neglect believes they deserve it or it's their fault, not knowing the adults in their lives are responsible to help them feel secure and confident. Negative childhood experiences often throw individuals into feeling too much responsibility, becoming people pleasers, carrying much shame and guilt, feeling like a burden, social awkwardness, experiencing cognitive distortions, depression, addictions, loss of identity, anxiety and panic disorders, inter-relational problems, lack of confidence, and a lack of boundaries. Clients need to know they're not to blame and there's hope to experience a healthier and purposeful life, the life they were meant to have. Clients need to know they belong, they matter and are not a mistake. If you want to find freedom, purpose, contentment, and healing schedule a 30 minute free consultation to explore whether we'd be a good fit to journey together to a better you.
