Registered Psychotherapist, MDiv, RP
Our teenage years can be an adventurous and enjoyable journey into adulthood, but they can also be among the most difficult periods of our life. At times, family and friends are not enough to navigate complex emotions, doubts and concerns related to self-esteem, identity, sexuality, and relationships. I provide safe and beneficial support for youth who want to learn new coping skills to better address those challenges and flourish in their lives.

Vancouver, British Columbia therapist: Tatiana Balashova (Life in Glow Wellness), counselor/therapist
Child or Adolescent Issues

Tatiana Balashova (Life in Glow Wellness)

Counsellor/Therapist
For requests related to children and teenagers, I offer 3-5 consultations to parents or caregivers. Even very subtle internal changes of a caregiver can affect kids behavior. In some cases working with parents is what is enough, in other cases sessions with a child can be beneficial (without a parent) or a session when both a child and parent are present. Art therapy techniques and MACards are used in the session. With adults emotion-image therapy can also be a very powerful method. In terms of age, because I work mainly online in zoom, it is easier usually for kids from 10-12 years old. However I can also offer a shorter session to a child if he/she feel a good connection and trust to be motivated to sit in front of the computer. In you have access to a room without noise in some places in Vancouver area I can offer in-person sessions with art therapy and MACards (commuting time will be extra). Length of the session depends what is manageable for the child. For teenagers and adults it is from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the method and type of session.
