Men’s Issues

Chris Tickner

Marriage and Family Therapist, PhD, MFT
Men are struggling these days. We often are unsure who we are supposed to be. We have a much hard time reaching out for help. Men suffer from a toxic gender norm that dictates they be strong, capable, and not express weakness or vulnerability. Overcoming that norm is one of the key things we do in our work. Helping men get in touch with and expressing their feelings is a powerful experience. I provide both individual and group therapy opportunities for men. There is nothing more inspiring than being in a group of men, holding another man as he weeps or rages.

Patrick Kelly, Psy.D., LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Marriage, Family, Therapist (LMFT)
Dr. Patrick works with men on issues that are unique to men as we navigate life at this unique time. The goal of our counseling work together will be to assist the client to become a more authentic version of himself as he navigates his life. For many men, going inside to do inner work is a very challenging journey, but once embarked on, many men find the journey an amazing experience as they discover who they are and what they really want from this life.

David Eshleman

Marriage and Family Therapist, M.A., LMFT
Therapy can be especially difficult for men to open up to. Often times the ideals of communication and vulnerability fly in the face of the "idea" of masculinity that society has historically thrust onto men. I understand that. There is no shame in taking care of your mental health. Think of going to therapy as going to the gym of the mind.
