Monica M. Huston
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
Trauma can affect how individuals experience safety, relationships, and themselves long after the event has passed. I provide a steady and paced approach to help process these experiences without overwhelming the system. Therapy focuses on increasing stability, understanding patterns shaped by trauma, and gradually building a greater sense of safety and integration.

Shame. Pain. Betrayal. Terror. Panic. Disgust. Rage. These are the common emotions that haunt or plague many survivors of (complex) trauma. Trauma can leave survivors feeling fragmented, dehumanized, and paralyzed. These emotions are often only one part of struggling to survive, with flashbacks and trauma responses often frustrating or flooding survivors. Many survivors often wonder if they will ever feel "normal" again after what has happened, if it is even possible to find safety again within and outside of themselves. In my work with survivors, my clients discover what it means to be grounded again within their bodies, to reclaim safety within their bodies, and to release trauma that has limited them for so long.

TREATMENT AND TOOLS FOR TRAUMA
Licensed Psychoanalyst, PH.D., IN PSYCHOANALYSIS AND NEUROSCIENCE, CERTIFIED PSYCHOANALYST, PSY.A, & LICENSED PSYCHOANALYST
PTSD requires lots of patience as the individual in treatment learns to interact with the world again. Traumatic experiences shut down everything in the person's mind/body, and in their social interactions, and create a lot of isolation. To counter all this, I recommend a unique program for each patient that includes talking at least twice a week, micro-stimulation to develop new pathways in the brain, supplements to heal the brain, music therapy (see Steven Halpern), sleep therapy, and the creation of "flow experiences" to strengthen the person's sense of self. Trauma is not easy to turn around, But, over a consistent period of time, expressing one's emotions and following a set routine (including the above), will always lead to healing.

Emma Esper
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, LPCC
Trauma creates profoundly deep and painful wounds. These wounds can be difficult to heal, as we often suppress them, have difficulty expressing them, or do not have safe spaces to unearth them. Unhealed trauma can inform how we make decisions, how we see ourselves, how we see others and our world, and how we react to these things. My work with trauma survivors is to instill hope and self-worth, acknowledge and validate all emotions, create feelings of safety, and provide permission giving for struggle. Remember, it is okay to not be okay.
