Successful relationships start with knowing and accepting ourselves. Then we can be clear about our needs and wants and learn to communicate clearly and appropriately. From there we can be genuinely empathetic and understanding of others points of view ultimately learning to identify and resolve dysfunctional patterns in your relationships.

What does couples counseling look like?
Each session is completely confidential. As we work together, you will learn how to communicate better, identify disruptive patterns, and work as a team.
In our first meeting we’ll discuss your hopes, wishes and goals. My job is to build safety, make sure you are heard, and start to develop a view of what is going on under the covers. Often, deep emotions and longings drive our behaviors. That last fight may not be about his family or what you said. It may be about whether you feel you are still loved, that you matter to your partner, that you are cherished. These roots go deep.
The approach I use, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), has over 30 years of research showing it works. 75% of couples who complete the sessions say their issues were resolved. Of these, over 90% say things are still as good, or better, two years later. EFT is powerful.

Sometimes, it is not what we say but how we say it. We may also miss valuable bits of information our partner shares, especially when we are not as calm and focused. The goal is never a perfect marriage but a relationship that continues to learn, grow and thrive

Marriage is difficult. The person we committed to loving the rest of our lives, is sometimes the person we can't stand to be around. Often times people wonder, "did I marry the wrong person?". These are common experiences and what I work on with couples. I utilize EFT to help a couple dive deep into their relationship, heal past wounds, and build the marriage they want
