S. Abigail McCarrel : Welcome Home Family Therapy
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, DCSW
I am a family therapist. I work closely with families, especially parents, to create calm and peace in the family. Parents who seek my help are often at their wits end and do not know what else to do to help their children. Kiddos in my client families are often gifted or twice exceptional, with frequent complex and challenging episodes that baffle and bewilder their parents. I also work with families who are in the post-adoptive stage of their family's development. I work intensely with parents to understand the brain science at work in all family members, helping parents to become the healers in the family.
As a family therapist, I work from a systems perspective. This means that change in one person impacts everyone else in the family. Since parents are the head of the household and are the leaders in the family, I focus on giving parents the understanding and tools to help their children so that everyone in the family can thrive. This involves helping parents make a lens shift, letting go of outdated parenting strategies for more science-based tools to help all family members. When parents change the way they look at and understand their children, children will change.

Carine France
Licensed Psychoanalyst, MFT
Hello,
I have been working as a psychotherapist in private practice for 18 years.
In my work, my goal is to provide a vital space where you can regain an authentic connection with yourself and learn to move toward a natural state of psychological balance and wholeness . By paying attention in a holistic way to your thoughts, feelings, physical symptoms, and dreams, I strive to bring both your mind and body into a place of integration and harmony.
I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, chronic pain, substance abuse, creativity, relationship issues, job stress, grief and loss, and offer both long and short-term therapy.
I strive to practice with depth, imagination, and integrity and use many different treatment modalities to get to the core of what is causing suffering or stuckness and help facilitate renewal and positive forward movement.
My main clinical approach is the Jungian model which seeks to support the unfolding of the individual by working very relationally and in depth with symbolic material, the unconscious, and values the person’s own inner resources.

Ricardo Peña
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I provide services in Spanish + English.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist of Mesoamerica-Indigienous ancestry. My life exposed to community violence, trauma and intersecting oppressions has led me to the work of healing, self-discovery, exploration and ancestral healing.
I was raised in the SF Bay Area and I currently reside on the stolen lands of the Tongva peoples, colonially known as Los Angeles, California.
My lived experiences of being a person of color with intersecting identities, navigating the world and the trauma that comes with that, has led me to the practice of healing at a young age. I grew up with many years of witnessing (through family members + my community) severe mental illness, addiction, community violence, chronic suicidality, incarceration and domestic violence. Through my own stories and experiences, as a justice-oriented therapist, I aim to disrupt and dismantle these oppressive systems within myself and in my practice to make therapy a safe(r) space for folks who are targeted and made marginalized.
