I believe that suffering appears because of disconnection. Pain, grief, shame, guilt, sadness can be processed without suffering. It’s still hard experience and it doesn’t feel pleasant. But it’s possible to live through it without feeling miserable.
Suffering appears when we get disconnected from our own bodies, our true self, from the nature, from each other. When brain disconnects from the body, logical thinking — from emotions and creativity. When we get fragmented into different parts or subpersonalities that have different needs and interests and are in conflict with each other. My purpose is to restore this connection, to restore contact, to help humans integrate all their parts into one whole. And I believe that all misunderstandings and conflicts in the world happen because of disconnection and inability to find contact and stay in contact. I see it as my mission to help humans find contact with themselves and with each other, with the planet. I'm certain that people who do horrible things were traumatised some time in the past — and trauma makes us fragmented and breaks connection. So, healing trauma and restoring connection is my way to make our world a better place to live in.

Dr. Nilgun Turkcan Ataoglu, BCT, RDT
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed & Registered Creative Arts Therapist
I am a Creative Arts Therapist, a Registered Drama Therapist - RDT, a Board-Certified Trainer - BCT, a supervisor and I am the founder and the director of Creative Arts Therapy Center…I have over 22 years of experience in promoting growth and healing through engagement in the arts.
Becoming a creative arts therapist has been long, extremely exciting and rewarding journey for me. Since I was a child, I was often expressing my thoughts and feelings through art, storytelling, role playing and writing poems, which made me to discover the healing power of arts at very early age. In 1999, when I found out about the MA Program in Creative Arts Therapies, at Concordia University, in Canada and I was accepted to the Master’s studies, my biggest dream came through. During my two years internships at McGill University Hospital, I became aware of my abilities to listen and have empathy towards others' suffering. After graduating and having for 11 years clinical experience, my motivation and curiosity about the field led me to start my PhD study in Expressive Therapies Program at Lesley University, in Boston. During my twenty-two years of clinical experience, I have privileged to help and to witness so many people to discover the meaning of their shattered life and to be empowered by creating and rewriting their life stories through drama, art, dance and music. To experience the honor of being entrusted with deepest secrets or overwhelming experiences also to experience with and to ''hold'' another human being through the process of healing, and transformation is the greatest reward one can experience.

Claudia Morassutti

Barcelona is Catalonia's vibrant capital and a top destination for European and global expats, and the city's therapy landscape reflects both its cosmopolitan character and the unique mental health pressures of living in one of Spain's most expensive and politically charged cities. English-, Spanish-, and Catalan-language therapy are all available, with practices concentrated in Eixample, Gràcia, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, and Poblenou. Housing costs, career uncertainty, political identity, and the stresses of expat adjustment are among the most common reasons people seek therapy in Barcelona. The city has a well-established LGBTQ+ community and a growing number of therapists offering affirming, identity-conscious care.
