Kelley Hopkins-Alvarez
Licensed Professional Counselor, Couples Therapy, Affair & Betrayal Recovery, Certified Sex Therapy, Certified Discernment Counselor
When divorce enters the conversation, couples often feel pressure to make life-changing decisions while experiencing fear, anger, grief, and uncertainty. My role is to slow the process down, reduce unnecessary escalation, and help both partners make more thoughtful decisions about what comes next.
As a Certified Discernment Counselor, I offer a structured process when one partner is leaning out of the relationship while the other is leaning in. Couples may ultimately choose a committed period of Couples Therapy, a purposeful Healing Separation, or divorce.
When divorce is the chosen path, I provide Non-Adversarial Divorce Support to help partners communicate with greater clarity and dignity. I have completed specialized training through the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce in mediation, collaborative divorce, and the non-adversarial divorce process. Within that process, I serve as a specialized mental health professional, helping divorcing partners manage the emotional and behavioral aspects of divorce, reduce destructive conflict, and communicate more productively. My work is child-focused, helping parents remain mindful of how their decisions and interactions may affect their children while keeping children out of adult conflict.
With written authorization from both partners, I may coordinate with their divorce professionals. These sessions are therapeutic and educational and do NOT include co-parenting counseling, legal advice, or legally binding agreements.

Drew Carr
Psychologist, Ph.D.
You had a good day. Work went well; you exercised; maybe even spent time with people you care about. Then you got home, noticed everything you had not done, opened your phone “for a minute,” and disappeared into comparison, research, or another plan to improve your life. By bedtime, the day no longer felt like enough. I work with thoughtful, driven folks, often ADHD or ADHD-ish, who look capable from the outside but feel restless, scattered, disconnected, or chronically behind. You may be successful and self-aware, yet exhausted from constantly trying to fix yourself.
My approach is practical and collaborative, grounded in contextual behavioral science. We look beneath procrastination, distraction, burnout, and indecision to understand how these patterns developed and what keeps them going. Therapy is not another performance test. It is a place to rebuild self-trust and act from what matters—not shame, fear, or proving.
I do not offer a final formula for what your life should be. I can help you slow the machinery down, recognize the rules that have been running you, and take the next honest step without abandoning yourself. If you have built a life that should feel meaningful but doesn't feel like home, contact me to see whether we're a good fit.
