Gordon Wax BA HONS MBACP

Counsellor/Therapist, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
Hi, my name is Gordon. Welcome! I’m am a fully qualified psychotherapist, working both online and in person from my private consulting room in Manchester England. I was born and raised in London. Personal therapy helped me to untangle my relationship with myself and my emotions from others. The world alone is a chaotic place to manage our own unknowns, anxieties, and traumas. I understand that everyone experiences the world in different ways, so unique problems require bespoke responses. Our lives are constantly creating new beginnings, change, and endings, so it’s natural to feel emotions strongly, think differently and respond atypically. I help clients explore all spheres of their life to help them build hope and to cope.

Dereham, England therapist: John Castleford, registered psychotherapist

John Castleford

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MIAEB, FRAI
I have been a psychotherapist and mental health coach for many years, and I now specialise almost exclusively in helping those with, or recovering from, cancer. It's a debilitating disease that I have experienced twice, so I know at first hand the effect it can have on the quality of life and particularly how it makes us feel -- either as a reaction to being diagnosed and undergoing treatment, or when in remission as a survivor, the fear of it recurring. I can also help family members and close friends, who often feel helpless bystanders. We have all experienced our feelings dominating what we think, and what we do. But heightened emotions stop us thinking clearly. And that can often lead us to feel out of control. Unlike many therapists, I do not believe that the adverse effect on our thinking and our behaviour from a life-changing event like cancer is a dysfunctional flaw or a disorder that needs treatment. Typical reactions to cancer --anxiety, fear, stress and low mood -- are part of life. Why cancer often triggers is a range of reactions: shock and denial; Shock and denial that it is happening. Coping with fear, anxiety and panic can be difficult, particularly as mood swings may frequently change. Feelings of sadness may range from low moof to extreme depression. Ultimately we know, at a rational level, that we are mortal. But we also have we also have a very strong instinct to survive. We want to live. And enjoy life. Cancer is not the death sentence it once was. I can help you come to terms with the reality as well as the inevitable perceptions that may influence you. And I can help you to flourish, rather than just cope and survive.

Saint Albans, England therapist: Karine Flynn, psychologist

Karine Flynn

Psychologist, MSc, GMBPS
You've done real therapeutic work. You understand your patterns with a clarity that took years to build: why your nervous system braces before a difficult conversation, why certain relationships seem to confirm your oldest fears, why the same emotional weather keeps returning no matter how much you've examined it. That understanding is not the problem. There is simply a neurobiological ceiling to what verbal processing can reach. Some people hit it - and when they do, the patterns that remain aren't stored as thoughts to be reframed. They live in the nervous system, in the body's tissues, in responses that were encoded long before language was available to organise them. I work at that ceiling. Not because what came before was wrong - but because the next layer of work requires a different kind of access. With over 20 years of experience and a deep specialisation in body-based trauma release, I work with self-aware individuals who are ready to move from understanding their patterns to releasing them. If that's where you are, I'd like to hear from you.

Ulrike Nau-Debor

Psychologist, CPsychol, AFBPsS, HCPC registered
I love working with people who have a yearning to become unapologetically themselves, want to listen to their inner voice and be able to let go of the trauma that seems to keep them stuck in the past. There is nothing better than seeing my clients create the lives they want to live and be who they really are. If you are curious to find out, if we are a good fit or if you have any questions about how I work, contact me for a complimentary conversation. I like to take some time first for both of us to get to know each other a bit so we can freely decide if we want to work together. Just drop me an email and I look forward to meeting you.
