Marianna Trezza -The Growing mindset
Counsellor/Therapist, MA (Hons), Adv Dip. Counsel. & Psychoth.,Dip. Hypnoth., X-Cultural Adaptation Coun. Reg. BACP 572613
Many women spend years adapting to expectations, responsibilities and roles that slowly take them further away from themselves.
Over time, this can lead to emotional exhaustion, chronic stress, anxiety, people pleasing, loss of identity or the feeling of constantly having to hold everything together for everyone else.
For women living abroad, these pressures are often intensified by the emotional complexity of living between cultures, languages and different versions of oneself.
Many of the women I support are highly empathic, capable and caring toward others, while internally feeling disconnected from their own needs, rhythm, voice or sense of belonging.
My work offers a warm, reflective and holistic space to explore emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, identity, self-worth, belonging and authenticity.
I integrate psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, EFT, embodiment, lifestyle medicine, reflective dialogue and nature-based approaches to support women in reconnecting with themselves in a gentler, more grounded and sustainable way.

women's issues encompass a wide range of challenges that affect our physical, emotional and psychological well-being. These issues may arise from societal expectations, gender roles, discrimination, trauma and personal experiences. Gender based violence includes physical, emotional and sexual abuse. This can occur in various settings, such as domestic relationships, workplaces and public spaces. The impact of GBV on women's mental health can lead to anxiety, depression and PTSD. Body image and self-esteem due to societal standards of beauty often place immense pressure on women to conform to unrealistic body ideals. This can result in body image issues, eating disorders and low self-esteem. Reproductive health issues such as menstrual health, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause are significant aspects of our overall wellbeing. Conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) endometriosis and infertility can have a substantial emotional and psychological impact. Women often face challenges in balancing our professional and personal lives. We may experience stress related to career advancements, workplace discrimination and the expectations of caregiving roles at home. The struggle to achieve work-life balance can lead to burnout and mental health concerns. Cultural norms and societal expectations can influence women's life choices, including marriage, motherhood and career paths. These pressures can create conflicts between personal desires and societal demands, leading to stress and identity crises. Combining humanistic and trauma-informed approaches provides a comprehensive framework for addressing women's issues in counselling. This integration involves conducting a thorough assessment, working collaboratively with my clients to set realistic and meaningful goals. Empowering you to take an active role in your healing journey and prioritise your needs and preferences, tailoring interventions to my client's unique experiences and strengths , use techniques to address specific issues and promote personal growth. Regular evaluation

Registered Psychotherapist, MA psych, Dip SW
"Women's issues" is a broad term, but what I often see are patterns that get socially reinforced in women: the pressure to be everything to everyone, the difficulty saying no, the guilt when you prioritize yourself, the exhaustion of managing everyone else's emotions while neglecting your own.
Maybe it's the perfectionism that's driving you into the ground. The relationship patterns where you keep choosing partners who need fixing. The people-pleasing that means everyone gets your best self except you. The sense that your worth comes from what you do for others, not from who you are.
Or maybe it's more specific: processing past abuse, navigating difficult family dynamics, the impact of motherhood on your identity, career struggles in male-dominated fields, or simply feeling like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way.
Whatever brings you in, we work to understand the patterns underneath. Not just "women are socialized this way" as an explanation, but what specifically happened in your life that taught you these particular patterns. Then we can start changing them.
You don't have to keep carrying everyone else while ignoring yourself. That's not strength—it's survival. And you deserve better than survival.
