FEAR! The strongest of ALL emotions. Paradoxically it's been fundamental to our evolutionary success: particularly fleeing predators and other sources of harm. It's kept us alive for the 200,000 years of our existence as humans. We're not all that strong, we don't have claws and fangs --but we can run long distances! And it matters not one bit that our fear of that growl in the undergrowth may be unfounded. We can get that wrong 1000 times and if we flee we survive as a consequence. Just as your smoke alarm has one volume (LOUD!) it's natural to be fearful of what we perceive may harm us. We often overestimate the size and proximity of threats and conversely underestimate our ability to cope. Fear is powerful BUT it can often interfere with logic and reason. That's why we need to respect fear and reassess our relationship to it. And courage is not the absence of fear; mindset is everything and mindset can be developed to ensure we have optimal strategies for the stresses and adversities that regularly afflict us.

Anxiety is a persistent feeling of worry, tension, or unease that can show up in the mind, body, or both. It may manifest as racing thoughts, muscle tension, trouble sleeping, or a sense that something bad might happen—even when there’s no clear threat. Fear, on the other hand, is usually a response to a specific, immediate danger—real or perceived. But when fear becomes chronic, or is tied to past experiences or unresolved trauma, it can limit our choices, relationships, and sense of safety in the world. Both anxiety and fear can be signals—not of something wrong with you—but of something important asking to be understood.

Anxiety, Fear & Emotional Overwhelm - Complimentary Consultation Do you often feel weighed down by anxiety or persistent mental tension? For many people with ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, anxiety develops as the mind tries to manage overwhelm, uncertainty and constant mental activity. Together we explore the connection between attention, emotions and the nervous system, and develop practical ways to regulate anxiety, regain emotional balance and respond to challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Using a neuroscience-informed and strengths-based approach, I help clients build healthier emotional patterns so anxiety no longer drives their decisions or limits their life. Book a complimentary consultation to explore whether this approach is right for you.

Does your mind constantly race with worries, worst-case scenarios, or fears that make everyday life feel exhausting? Anxiety can affect your confidence, relationships, sleep, and ability to enjoy the present moment. Whether you're experiencing persistent worry, social anxiety, overwhelming stress, or fears that seem difficult to control, you deserve support that helps you feel more grounded and understood. I offer affordable, compassionate counselling that combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a person-centred, culturally sensitive approach. Together, we can explore what's contributing to your anxiety, recognize unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and gradually build confidence in situations that feel challenging. My goal isn't to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, but to help you develop a healthier relationship with uncertainty, strengthen your emotional resilience, and regain a greater sense of control over your life. You don't have to face your fears alone. I'd be honoured to support you in taking the next step toward greater peace of mind.
