Lavinia May

Counsellor/Therapist, MNCPS (Acc.)
Hi, I'm Lavinia. If you and your partner keep having the same argument, feel disconnected, or find yourselves walking on eggshells - you're not alone, and things can change. I specialise in couples therapy, and also work with individuals. My approach is warm, honest and practical: we'll make sense of what's going on between you, and build small, realistic steps that help your relationship feel easier, closer and more like you again. I use proven tools and techniques - without the jargon. Sessions feel like real conversations with direction: we set goals together, track what's working, and adapt as we go. I work with couples and individuals navigating: recurring arguments & communication breakdowns · trust & repair after conflict · intimacy & emotional disconnection · anxiety creeping into the relationship · family & in-law boundaries · life transitions & burnout · reconnecting after a rough patch Practicalities: 50-minute sessions • Online or in person in my Sandbach office • Individual & Couples. 🎁 20% Off All Therapy Sessions: Summer is here - and so is 20% off all therapy sessions. Let's make it count! Next step: Introductory Session 50 minutes | Individuals & Couples The first step is an initial session together - a relaxed conversation to get to know each other, hear a little about what's been going on, and explore how I may be able to support you. There's no pressure or commitment at this stage. Prefer to skip the Introductory Session? You're welcome to book your first therapy session directly. Registered Psychotherapist, MA, Adv Dip MBACP
I’ve been in practise since 2016 and feel very blessed having had the opportunity to help so many people on their healing journey. My first focus is always in creating a safe space; one of understanding, compassion and openness. Anyone attending therapy needs to feel safe, secure, and seen and understood by their therapist. Though there’s a lot more that I do in my work with people than above, it’s those foundations - the relationship between therapist and clients - that everything else we do is built from. You will get 100% from me, as well as a dedication to continual learning and exploring, refining already known approaches, as well as adding in new tools and techniques. I know therapy can be a nervous thing to first try, but I’m sure in saying that I will put anyone at ease very quickly, and that anyway that sticks with therapy - and feels safe and heard by myself - will experience change that is hard to almost hard to believe until it starts to happen. I look forward to meeting you

John Castleford

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MIAEB, FRAI
I have been a psychotherapist and mental health coach for many years, and I now specialise almost exclusively in helping those with, or recovering from, cancer. It's a debilitating disease that I have experienced twice, so I know at first hand the effect it can have on the quality of life and particularly how it makes us feel -- either as a reaction to being diagnosed and undergoing treatment, or when in remission as a survivor, the fear of it recurring. I can also help family members and close friends, who often feel helpless bystanders. We have all experienced our feelings dominating what we think, and what we do. But heightened emotions stop us thinking clearly. And that can often lead us to feel out of control. Unlike many therapists, I do not believe that the adverse effect on our thinking and our behaviour from a life-changing event like cancer is a dysfunctional flaw or a disorder that needs treatment. Typical reactions to cancer --anxiety, fear, stress and low mood -- are part of life. Why cancer often triggers is a range of reactions: shock and denial; Shock and denial that it is happening. Coping with fear, anxiety and panic can be difficult, particularly as mood swings may frequently change. Feelings of sadness may range from low moof to extreme depression. Ultimately we know, at a rational level, that we are mortal. But we also have we also have a very strong instinct to survive. We want to live. And enjoy life. Cancer is not the death sentence it once was. I can help you come to terms with the reality as well as the inevitable perceptions that may influence you. And I can help you to flourish, rather than just cope and survive.

Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Clinical Counsellor, B.Couns., MNCPS Accred. , PACFA Reg.
I work with people from every walk of life, from successful business managers to struggling students, helping them to navigate stress, anxiety, and life’s many challenges. My approach is friendly, humorous and empathetic. Online I see clients from all over the world- especially Australia, the UK and Ireland. I have developed my therapeutic style and skills over many years. I am especially well versed in shock and developmental trauma, relationship and family therapy, workplace stress and anxiety . My trauma work is based on releasing painful held memories through Somatic Experiencing. The good news is that you don't have to delve into old wounds or relive past events. Trauma is held in the body and it is through the body that it can be released. My wife Adima is also available for spiritual therapy and as a Gene Keys Guide and can be contacted through our website. The trust clients have displayed in me over the years has deepened my compassion and my insight and I am easy to connect with face to face or online. My aim is to present you with the tools you need to heal the things that trouble you and to connect more deeply within yourself; also to grow and develop an intimate, conscious and nourishing connection with the world around you. People often tell me they can never switch off the internal chatter and noise in their minds. That's a disturbance you don't have to live with. We can open the space for peace, simplicity and the freedom to relax when you need to. My way of working is singular, joining as it does clinical experience and the healing of trauma with meditation and mindfulness. I combine them to give my clients something special, the opportunity to find their own sense of direction in the company of a supportive ally, eliminating that which is old and no longer relevant while developing new strengths. My wish is to serve and support you in your authentic flowering, rather than to 'fix' you according to the expectations of conventional therapy. I appreciate connecting with people from every kind of background. I grew up in London and have travelled to many places in Europe, India and Asia. Until recently, I lived and worked in Australia and now I have returned to create a home and a practice in Devon the UK. In addition to Somatic Experiencing, I am inspired and fascinated by Internal Family Systems therapy and have recently embarked on a study of the Gene Keys. I look forward to working with you.
