Dr. John E. N. Daniel
Marriage and Family Therapist, EdD; EdS; MA; MA; LCMFT#0404011018; BCCLC#0131
Of the various marriage and couple therapies and models I have studied, I gravitate to the behavioral and emotion-centered approaches namely: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT). In terms of the behavioral approaches, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and its “spin-offs” provide a wealth of applicability and contextual viability. In addition, I am attracted to this approach as a practitioner due to its high level of empirical validation.

Everyone wants to connect. Our fears and past experiences often leave scars that can make connection with others scary and unpredictable. When we learn to process and express difficult emotions to our significant other we can learn and grow together as we experience both the difficulties and joys life has to offer.
