You can draw on my extensive life experience , plus thousands of hours working with adults on communication, trust, anger, trauma, grief, PTSD, existential crisis. I use numerous counseling and coaching techniques. Making each session unique and challenging. My method is to attempt to get to the core issues as quickly as possible. You will know within the first session whether I am the right therapist, life coach for you. I also work with other therapists, clergy , first responders, health professionals and teachers in assisting them in venting and processing the trauma that they witness and hear from their clients sometimes daily at work and then they have to function at home . Cindy Yu is a bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of both Florida and Alabama. She is well-trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, solution-focused therapy, Bowen’s theory, Gottman Method, CBT, and more. Cindy believes that each client is comprised of unique yet charismatic components such as personal upbringings, religious beliefs, and cultural backgrounds, that all contribute to narrate a cohesive personal story. This fundamental ideology has cultivated her into offering her clients unconditional positive regard and respect, while tailoring her treatment orientations to better serve each client’s individuality. Her passion is to help individuals, couples, and families to understand the misunderstood, to discover hope from the hopelessness, to speak the unspoken, and to seek possibilities through the impossible. Cindy also has a background in the medical field where she has obtained a strong foundational knowledge for medical diagnosis and medications. I have enjoyed a long career as a psychotherapist and truly enjoy my work. I am familiar with a variety of treatment strategies like CBT and DBT and have been successful in helping clients learn to use these techniques for managing negative feelings. I have learned to make good connections and establish trusting relationships with people who need support and assistance.
