My therapeutic approach in dealing with suicide ideation/thoughts is based on using Cognitive Behavior Therapist (CBT) coupled with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). At the core, using CBT I combine myriad treatment and techniques that all share a common principle that thoughts, rather than external circumstances, cause feelings and behaviors.
