While I don't directly accept insurance, many insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network services. For standard and intensive sessions, HSA or FSAs are also an option for payment. I'm Dr. Steffanie Grossman, and I'm so glad you're here! I provide individual therapy as well as brainspotting sessions to teenagers through adults, with specialties in the areas of eating disorders, gender identity, and sexual identity, as well as in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that many of our behaviors that become problematic (e.g., isolation, self-harm, disordered eating) begin as a way to cope, when we feel we have little control. From this perspective, even if certain behaviors are now causing you distress, it is amazing that you empowered yourself to survive, whether it be during times of trauma or when you did not have room to figure out who you truly were. Now, we can collaboratively figure out new strategies that not only allow you to survive, but to thrive, in a way that allows you to feel peaceful and free. Together, we can help you let go of feelings of guilt and shame, and develop self-compassion while you embrace your authentic, true self. I would be honored to help you empower yourself to live the life you wish to live.  

In a world that often values toughness, being a highly sensitive and soft-hearted person can feel like a burden. We might say “yes” when we really mean “no”. And we may feel like we have to act differently to fit in, even if it means putting others before ourselves. Sometimes it can feel tough to find our inner courage, speak up for what we want, and create positive boundaries. This can be especially true when we’re striving for success in our careers, supporting our loved ones emotionally, or navigating big life changes like pregnancy and the postpartum period.
