Dr. Underwood served as the Director of Psychology for a long-term care facility for three years in addition to extensive study and treatment during her doctoral residency of those diagnosed with a wide range of dementias: Mild Cognitive Decline, Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia, Parkinson's Dementia, Huntington's Dementia, Wernicke-Korsakoff, Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia, and Lewy Body Dementia. She has been active in the Alzheimer's Association, often speaking as a subject matter expert to various organizations. Dr. Underwood has presented frequently to Alzheimer's conferences.
