Duane Barone

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MA, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 30 years of experience in the human services and mental health fields. He now lives on Oahu after living most of his life in Colorado. I have experience with adults, teens, and couples to improve their interpersonal relationships and create balance and stability. I can also work with teams corporate and industrial teams to increase emotional intelligence, cohesion & performance, and safety. I obtained his BSc of Psychology from Texas A&M University (’87) then obtained my Master of Clinical Psychology (’03) after working for a decade with adults with intellectual disabilities and adults with chronic mental illness. I continued his post-graduate studies through Capella University to help build knowledge and perspectives for his work in private practice where he specialized in rehabilitative counseling with court ordered clients dealing with family violence issues. I currently work full time as a contractor for the Departments of the Navy and Air Force at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. Prior to this amazing opportunity, I owned Caledonia Counseling (2005-2022), based in the Denver area, after completing his graduate school and offered contract services to other agencies and community mental health providers. My practice focused on rehabilitative counseling with court-ordered clients trying to break the cycle of violence in the relationships and families. It is my mission in life to help make the world a more peaceful and safer place. On Valentine’s Day 2018, I founded a 501c3 nonprofit organization, STudents & Athletes for Healthy RelationshipS to make schools safer from teen dating violence, sexual assaults, and bullying. STAHRS.org is the mechanism he uses to reach high school and college students to help them to understand and develop healthy relationships while recognizing and avoiding abusive relationship patterns. I believe that “playing” is critical for stress management and he loves water, frozen or liquid. He loves skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving, sailing, and fishing as well as golf, camping, cooking, and travel.

Seeking mental health care is a courageous step, and my goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout your journey. As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 18 years of nursing experience, I believe that effective treatment begins with understanding the whole person—not just the diagnosis. While medication can be an important part of treatment, I also incorporate evidence-based psychotherapy, holistic strategies, and practical coping skills to help clients build lasting emotional wellness. Roderic Burks - Integrative Mental Health

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MS, MS HSc, MA, LMHC, LPC
I believe therapy is a space for deep, meaningful change—not just symptom relief. My work is grounded in a parts-based practice, depth psychology, and a trauma-informed lens, helping clients explore the aspects of themselves shaped by past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns. I approach this process with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique story. I specialize in working with trauma recovery, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, codependency, and relationship issues. I view these challenges not simply as problems to eliminate, but as signals pointing toward deeper patterns that deserve attention and care. Together, we create a space where all parts of you are welcome—especially those that have been overworked, hidden, or misunderstood. My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, inner balance, and a more authentic relationship with yourself and others.

Counselor/Therapist, CBC®️Certified Provider, Kessler Certified Grief Educator
After facing the heart-wrenching challenges of having two of my three children struggle with Substance Use Disorder, my world was further shaken when my son, Joel, lost his decades-long battle with the disease in 2017. In the wake of this profound loss, I was determined to better understand the family experience of addiction, and have since used this lived experience to support and guide others who are navigating the isolating and stigmatizing road of addiction and loss. As a Compassionate Bereavement Care®️ Certified Provider and Kessler Certified Grief Educator, I work with individuals, families, and communities impacted by loss. I am a Peer Parent Coach with the Partnership to End Addiction, and co-facilitate their online grief support community, and is the host of Finding Hope After Loss, Grief Support groups for The Happier Life Project. As an advocate for recovery policies, I am a California State Organizer with the Recovery Advocacy Project, serve on the RCO/RCC Advisory Committee, and was named the 2022 Architect of Recovery by CCAPP (CA Consortium of Addiction Professionals.) Life Coach, Trauma-Informed Life & Career Coach | Mindfulness-Based Coaching
Life transitions, emotional overwhelm, difficult relationships, and inner self-doubt can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and uncertain about the future. Many people come to me after years of trying to hold everything together while quietly struggling underneath the surface. You may appear “fine” on the outside while internally feeling emotionally exhausted, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of your next step. You don’t have to navigate that alone. I provide a compassionate, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients can slow down, gain clarity, process emotional challenges, and reconnect with themselves in a more grounded and authentic way. My coaching style is intuitive, practical, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based. Together, we work to better understand the patterns, stress, beliefs, and life experiences that may be impacting your confidence, relationships, emotional well-being, or sense of direction. Whether you are navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, burnout, career uncertainty, or simply feeling lost or overwhelmed, my goal is to help you move forward with greater self-awareness, resilience, confidence, and inner balance. Meaningful change begins from the inside out—and you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
