Forgiveness starts from within. When we can truly say we can forgive ourselves, then we can forgive others. It is a journey, so let's begin!
Dr. Evelyn Comber
Psychologist, L.C.P.C., Ph.D., M.A., M.P.C., M.H.S., B.G.S.
Forgiveness is often misunderstood as something we do for someone else. It's not-it is for us. And there is much more to it than just saying "I forgive them." Call to talk over what, who, and why you want to forgive.
Ashley Miller Nolan
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
Remember that the first inherent step of forgiveness is acknowledging that there is hurt and pain. We do not always realize that this may be the biggest hurdle to forgiveness. Sure our minds may tell us stories about that pain, but that is a way to avoid feeling it. Once we feel secure and strong enough to feel our pain we will let it go. Forgiveness is the catalyst for pain releasing, leaving wisdom in its place. When we forgive, we do not go back; we step forward into that wisdom and strength.
Warriors Respite
Counselor/Therapist, MSW, LCSW, CADC
As a therapist, my approach to the complex process of forgiveness is rooted in creating a safe and supportive space for exploration. I understand that forgiveness is a deeply personal journey that can be challenging and multifaceted. I honor and validate your emotions, allowing you to express your feelings without judgment.
Through our therapeutic collaboration, we work together to unpack the layers of hurt, anger, and resentment that may be intertwined with the need for forgiveness. I provide guidance in understanding the potential benefits of forgiveness for your own well-being, emphasizing that forgiveness is not about condoning the actions of others but rather freeing yourself from the burden of carrying negative emotions.
Drawing from evidence-based techniques and a compassionate approach, I help you navigate the complexities of forgiveness at your own pace. Whether it's forgiving others or yourself, I am dedicated to guiding you towards a place of healing and empowerment, where forgiveness becomes a tool for personal growth and emotional liberation.
