My name is Jake Johnson and I am the founder of Bristlecone Therapy. I've been practicing marriage and family therapy (MFT) for over 17 years. I also work as a professor of MFT at Wheaton College, where I have taught for 13 years. In more recent years I've become a certified life coach, and I am currently the president-elect of the International Family Therapy Association.
On a personal note, I've been married for 15 years. I have four boys, ages 13 to 6. I love to travel, hike in the mountains and read fiction. I have done a whole bunch of my own therapy, spiritual direction, and personal and group retreats (as I deeply believe that if I am not healthy, then I certainly can't help my clients to be).

– A 30 min Informed Consent Meeting is required prior to starting therapy. This meeting is at no cost and consists of explanation of legal disclosures, practice billing and schedule processes, and discussing course of treatment to determine fit and appropriateness for utilizing telehealth.

– Current caseload is capped at 10 total clients per week, which allows more intentional and targeted attention to treatment

– Sessions are scheduled in 6 week sets – sessions can be set up weekly or bi-monthly

– $1,450 for set of 6 sessions to be paid at schedule of first appointment (as a one time payment in full, or half at first, half prior to 4th appointment).

– While Dr. Lynema does not participate with insurance or direct bill to a 3rd party, a superbill can be provided for client to submit to insurance or HSA (insurance will reimburse directly to the client at out of network rate)

– More sets of 6 sessions can be scheduled (average clients utilize 3 sets/18 sessions) as needed

– Family sessions can be utilized by the couple and/or either individual as needed

– Sessions are available Tuesday through Friday Thursdays and Fridays at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1:00pm (times are in Eastern)

– Scheduled clients also gain access to a library of 30+ videos of Dr. Lynema explaining tools and concepts that can be accessed as needed outside of sessions.
