As a woman and a woman of color, our identity is central to our lived experience. We experience things a worldview that has often been imparted to us but is also affected by gender violence, sexism, and stereotypes. I am not here to assume what your experience has been. Even the term "women's issues" is simply a tip of an iceberg. Let's talk about it.

Working to address women's issues in therapy involves a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges and experiences faced by women across various stages of life. With a compassionate and culturally sensitive approach, I address a range of topics including gender roles, body image, reproductive health, relationships, and career aspirations. Utilizing feminist therapy principles and evidence-based techniques, I create a safe and supportive space for women to explore their concerns, heal from past traumas, and navigate societal pressures. By empowering women to voice their needs, assert boundaries, and cultivate self-compassion, my specialized expertise aims to facilitate personal growth, empowerment, and resilience in the face of gender-related struggles.

Naperville, Illinois therapist: Ashley Pinto, therapist
Women's Issues

Ashley Pinto

Therapist, LCPC, CCTP
Hormonal transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause/menopause can profoundly impact a woman’s nervous system, emotional wellbeing, and sense of self. Anxiety, panic, irritability, mood swings, brain fog, exhaustion, or feeling unlike yourself are common during these seasons—not because something is “wrong,” but because your body and brain are adapting to immense internal change while often carrying invisible expectations to keep functioning as usual. Through integrative somatic therapy, I support women in understanding and working with these shifts rather than pushing through them. Our work focuses on restoring nervous system balance, developing greater flexibility, and increasing capacity for rest, regulation, and self-trust. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with your strengths and clarify what you need in this season. It’s about meeting yourself where you are, honoring your body’s wisdom, and creating steadiness and resilience in this new chapter of life. I no longer offer weekly insurance-based 53 minute sessions. After a decade of seeing clients under this model, I've shifted my practice to private pay customized services that better meet the needs of my niche clients. My customized Therapy Intensives are specially designed to offer you a more a more spacious, efficient, and streamlined for a deeper and more transformative experience. They are intended to be short-term and can serve as an adjunct to ongoing therapy with your already established therapist, such as in the case that you really enjoy the work you are doing with them but they do not specialize in an area that I do. I also offer monthly extended sessions (90 minutes to 2 hours) for those looking for a hybrid option, that allows for deeper work as well as ongoing support. Please visit my website for more details on how we can work together.
