Grief most often occurs with the loss of a loved one. However, many life events and transitions cause grief or loss as well. Loss of a job, a dream, a hope, a goal; divorce and so on. Trauma often fails in the category or grief/loss for many indivdualsl. It's important for the therapist to listen in a supportive manner to individuals’ concerns. That is what I provide for those struggling with grief. Listening in a supportive is essential for healing. With trauma grief I help the client to understand and recognize the feelings that often occur, such as numbness, helplessness, anxiety, anger and deep sadness. Regardless of the source of grief I assist clients in finding their own strength and learn to develop coping skills that eventually can lead to pre-loss functioning. The heart of grief counseling is validation. Each person grieves in their own way and that needs to be understood in a caring way.

“Each person's grief is as unique as their fingerprint. But what everyone has in common is that no matter how they grieve, they share a need for their grief to be witnessed. That doesn't mean needing someone to try to lessen it or reframe it for them. The need is for someone to be fully present to the magnitude of their loss without trying to point out the silver lining.” ― David Kessler, Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief
I align with this quote. Grief and loss come in many forms and ultimately in death. My heart for grief work is being present and holding space to let you experience the full measure of your grief while staying anchored in the here and now. You will drown and then realize you are the ocean.

Grief losses, trauma, and it creates feelings of abandonment. If you don’t deal with your feelings or feelings, will deal with you. Often times this can cause substance-abuse and other types of addiction such a shopping, sex and gambling or social media. I can teach you how to deal with these complicated feelings that come with grief and get past that. Through evidence based therapy and meditations, you can create space with yourself and separate yourself from the mind that constantly speaks and the emotions that constantly creates suffering.

I'd offer a compassionate space for someone dealing with loss or grief, helping them express their feelings and understand their journey. Together, we'd tackle any emotional issues or traumas that might be making things harder. Through therapy, I'd help them find healthy ways to cope, manage overwhelming emotions, and rediscover their sense of self. I'd also support them in adjusting to changes in relationships and finding comfort in their social circle. The goal is to help them find healing and meaning in their grief, while addressing any underlying emotional issues or trauma.
