Interpersonal Violence is a difficult issue to navigate. Abuse is often a multigenerational pattern; where people learn young that being belittled, controlled, and threatened are acceptable and normal. Relationships are complicated, pain and fear are often alongside love and affection. Add living in a world with an ever increasing cost of living and unstable housing, and a person can find themselves in a precarious situation fast. I've worked with people who realize they are being mistreated, and want support in building healthier relationships and creating a more loving and stable life for themselves. I've also supported those who've realized they are repeating the cycle, and want to learn how to build a healthy relationship without being violent and controlling towards those they love. Its a process of both recognizing what sort of treatment is unacceptable, and learning about what healthy and safe relationships look like. I try to be a nonjudgemental and safe space for those who are working through these realizations.
