Restoring authentic right connection to self in spite of trauma
In treating Trauma and PTSD, we use sandplay and somatic focusing to discharge survival energy that talk therapy often can't reach. We move at the pace of your nervous system, ensuring that the "Deep-Sea Diving" we do stays within your window of tolerance. Our goal is to move you from a state of constant surveillance to a state of prophetic peace.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-C
PTSD is a complicated thing to treat and actually responds a lot better to behavioral techniques rather than "talk therapy." Trauma affects the body and nervous system and is much more complex than a lot of people realize. I can help clients prevent and handle flashbacks more easily as well as decrease PTSD symptoms overall by using a technique called TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercise). Often talking about the trauma makes it worse and the goal is not to relive the trauma. The goal is to help clients separate "past" from "present" so that the traumatic event feels "done and over." While we can't change the past, we can help clients learn to stay in the present instead of being re-traumatized by memories of past events. I can provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing) which is a non-invasive effect method that neutralizes the emotional "charge" attached to traumatic memories. It is best use for single traumatic events (rather than years of traumatic circumstances in childhood for example). EMDR and TRE can only be done in person due to the equipment I use.

Tam Nguyen-Louie
Psychologist, Ph.D.
As an Asian clinical psychologist, I specialize in treating PTSD, with a deep focus on the intricate layers of sexual and relational trauma. I help clients process the debilitating impacts of trauma, including intrusive flashbacks, hypervigilance, and the deep-seated emotional numbing that often disrupts daily life. Understanding how cultural dynamics can compound these symptoms, I provide a tailored, culturally responsive space to safely confront these painful memories. Together, we work to untangle complex trauma responses, reclaim emotional regulation, and guide the mind and body back to a place of lasting safety.

Trauma can leave deep marks—flashbacks, anxiety, or feeling “on edge” long after the event has passed. PTSD may make it hard to trust, relax, or feel safe in your own body. In therapy, I provide a calm and supportive space where you can process what happened at your own pace. Together, we’ll work on reducing triggers, rebuilding a sense of safety, and creating tools that help you move forward with strength and resilience.

After trauma, your mind and body may keep acting as if the danger is still happening: staying on guard, avoiding reminders, or feeling cut off from yourself. That’s not weakness. It’s your system trying to keep you safe. I use proven trauma treatments at a pace that respects your readiness, so you can stop living in survival mode and feel more at home in your life again.
