Sleep Disorder therapists in Pikesville, Maryland MD
Hypnosis Silver Spring
Hypnotherapist, Hypnotherapist certified by International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association
I will begin by teaching you self-hypnosis and assigning you to practice it several times per day. When you want to sleep, you will take yourself into a deep hypnotic sleep and remain there until, without being aware of it, you pass into regular sleep. Later I will teach you Wholeness, which works on an even deeper, more profound level.
There may also be particular things that keep you from sleeping - one client just liked staying up late, but had to get up early. We will tease out these issues - feelings, thoughts, and behaviors - and resolve them.

Taylor Allie
Licensed Professional Counselor, LGPC
To address sleep disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) may involve identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to sleep disturbances, along with implementing relaxation techniques and sleep hygiene practices. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) could be beneficial for individuals with sleep disorders by helping them regulate emotions and manage stressors that impact their sleep quality. Integrative approaches may combine elements of CBT, DBT, and somatic therapy to address the multifaceted nature of sleep disorders, considering both psychological and physiological factors while tailoring interventions to the individual's needs.

Many factors operate to interfere with sufficient sleep during these years – including anxiety or depression, early school starts, homework loads, biological shifts to staying up late, and habits such as caffeine use and electronic device use. Poor sleep can exacerbate anxiety and depressed mood, cause irritability, and make it difficult to be effective at school or in relationships.
