Career Counseling

Eric Weinstein

Life Coach, Hypnosis and NLP, shamanic healing, Energy Psychology (including "tapping"), Voice Dialogue
I use two unique approaches to help clients with career direction. One is True Purpose coaching, and the other is the Professional Strengths, Values & Story Survey (SVSS). I believe at least one of these tools should precede traditional career counseling and job placement because it's vital to understand who you are and why you do what you do (the SVSS) and why you’re on this planet and what’s keeping you from manifesting that (True Purpose). In other words, these two tools are about what you could be doing, not just what you’ve done. The SVSS is an innovative motivational assessment tool that explores your professional identity and direction through 12 universal “story types.” By seeing your life and work-life purpose in wholly new way, you’ll learn how to be more appreciated where you now work and/or how to find a better “fit” for your authentic self. SVSS coaching typically takes six sessions. True Purpose is a both a practical and an idealistic/spiritual approach to understanding (and manifesting, if you choose) what your soul – not your ego – wants for you. True Purpose is based on practices that enable individuals to access their own higher source of wisdom (even if that’s “just” one’s own “higher self”) and turn that into a life-long resource. The practical part is about clearly defining and dealing with your internal limitations – which, by the way, are usually the same limitations that have kept you from your true potential so far.

Our careers are not static, but ever-changing. Sometimes we find ourselves at a cross-roads and we aren't sure whether or not to make a big career change. Other times we are really happy in our careers but are struggling interpersonally with supervisors or co-workers. We spend so much time at work that if it isn't a healthy environment for us, it can lead to burnout and stress. By learning new strategies and coping skills, you can feel more balanced and fulfilled at work.

I provide career counseling and executive coaching to those who are just starting out, considering a change in career paths, or want to reach their full potential and be content with their current path. I often braid traditional coaching with therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral and narrative therapy for powerful results. Career counseling is well-timed at many stages of life.

Career development is a process. It's a misnomer that our careers are supposed to develop in a predictable, stage-like fashion. For most of us, we may face everything from career satisfaction to career transitions or life changes that force us to drastically alter our career trajectories. Because our jobs are so intertwined with our mental health and self-concept, you owe it to yourself to seek support to either develop or maintain your successful career.
