Relational Psychotherapy

Michelle Bloom, PsyD

Psychologist, PsyD, PsyPact
I specialize in working with clients from the ages of 14 to adulthood, who are inquisitive, self-aware, and deeply motivated to understand themselves better, improve their relationships, move into a place of self-respect/love, and develop adaptive ways of coping, communicating, and problem-solving. I have worked for many years with children, teens, adults, and families dealing with trauma and change and searching for authenticity, often in a world that values the superficial. Therapy is a process of seeking meaning, managing change, letting go of what no longer makes sense for who we are and what we want, healing, and growing. I am most suited to help clients dealing with loss, prior childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity (in all its manifestations), divorce, self-esteem, grief, and emotional regulation. The goals are different for everyone, yet I believe that we all want to feel more balanced, more joyful, and more healthfully connected with others. As a psychologist with 25 years of post-doctoral experience, I’ve been exposed to various modalities, settings, and clients dealing with differing issues, life changes, and developmental expectations. I’ve also found that my professional practice has evolved as I’ve matured, raised children, and survived losses and challenges. We are in this together.

Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD

Hypnotherapist, PhD
Something in you knows that what you're carrying runs deeper than the presenting problem. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly composed-yet internally they live with anxiety, depression, chronic tension or pain, relentless self-criticism, or a sense that something essential is blocked, muted, or just out of reach. These struggles may surface in mood, in the body, in behavior, or in relationships-including sexuality and intimacy-but they are rarely contained to any one area. They tend to reflect deeper emotional and relational patterns formed early in life, often before language, that continue to shape how a person approaches closeness, vulnerability, agency, pleasure, and self-expression. My work centers on how early experience shapes the capacity for self-regulation, desire, connection, and meaning throughout life-and particularly on how people come to know what they need and want, how they learn to express or inhibit those impulses, and what happens when these capacities become conflicted, constricted, or difficult to sustain. I integrate psychoanalytic hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and clinical sexology within a reflective, depth-oriented process. Hypnosis functions as a central clinical tool-creating conditions for deeper internal contact with emotional, bodily, and unconscious experience that can be difficult to reach through conversation alone. The aim is not only relief from symptoms, but the development of a more coherent and compassionate relationship with one's inner life: sensations, emotions, impulses, and desires. This work is oriented toward lasting psychological change-and toward greater freedom in how one relates to oneself, one's body, and one's capacity for connection, authenticity, and vitality. It is best suited to those ready to move beyond symptom management toward something more fundamental.

Jackson, New Jersey therapist: Asher Lipner, psychologist
Relational Psychotherapy

Asher Lipner

Psychologist, Ph.D., SRT
I believe good therapy is more than symptom management. It’s about helping people understand themselves more honestly, develop greater emotional awareness, and build a life that feels more grounded, connected, and authentic. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand — anxiety, shame, compulsive behaviors, emotional disconnection, relationship struggles, or cycles of secrecy and self-criticism. Often, these struggles are not simply about “bad habits” or lack of willpower, but about deeper emotional and relational dynamics that have never been fully understood or addressed. My style is warm, direct, thoughtful, and engaged. I aim to create a space where people can speak openly about subjects that are difficult to discuss elsewhere, without feeling judged, dismissed, or reduced to a diagnosis. I believe meaningful therapy requires both compassion and honesty: the ability to understand pain without losing sight of accountability, growth, and change. I have particular experience helping individuals and couples struggling with compulsive sexual behavior, pornography addiction, betrayal trauma, intimacy difficulties, anxiety, shame, and trauma-related issues. I also work extensively with clients from religious and culturally sensitive communities, where these struggles often carry additional layers of secrecy, fear, and isolation. Therapy can help people move from surviving on autopilot toward living with greater clarity, presence, integrity, and connection — both to themselves and to the people they care about most.
