Trauma can be both relational/attachment trauma or it may be through traumatic events such as neglect, abuse, domestic violence (witnessed or experienced). It may be through war, through refugee status or bullying at work or in the home. It can create what is known as PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Disorder) or in those with major trauma DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). These traumatic events require a trained and accredited therapist to deal with the healing of the psyche. I am trained at Master level to work wit all cases of Trauma.

PTSD is sadly common in modern society. Thankfully, there are treatments of known effectiveness and the psychologists at this practice are very familiar with them and can work out how they can apply to every version of PTSD, including yours.
Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (as well as C-PTSD) can profoundly impact an individual's mental and emotional well-being. Just as each traumatic experience or experiences are unique so are the ways in which we each respond and process them. There isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to trauma therapy but with new research we do know that trauma is stored in the body. I am a trauma informed Processwork (Process Oriented) Psychotherapist as well as Somatic Experiencing informed. I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space for you to gradually work through your traumatic experiences to regain a sense of control, and ultimately reclaim your life. Please read more about the therapy I provide for a deeper understanding of how I can help.
Registered Psychotherapist, Masters in Gestalt Therapy
Everyone has trauma. It's part of being alive. And some trauma events can be particularly intense and leave us feeling unsafe in the world. The environment we grew up in, if particularly abusive and dysfunctional, can also be traumatic and cause us to feel unsafe in the world. Trauma shows up in our nervous system responses to people and situations, like being excessively wary and on high alert.
We work to regulate your nervous system, to give it safe resting places and experiences of relaxation. We also work with the underlying trauma itself in a very slow, resourcing way.
Counsellor/Therapist, Master of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, Advanced Clinical Skills in Gestalt Psychotherapy
Some of my most satisfying work is with clients who have experienced trauma, whether complex, developmental trauma or the acute experiences that tend to underlie PTSD. Helping clients understand the neurobiology that underpins their responses to the world often results in them judging themselves less and finding an ability to be more compassionate with themselves.
