I often utilize art therapy in addition to traditional therapy for cathartic release. Art therapy incorporates and engages both sides of the brain to assist in release and problem solving at same time. Artist skills are not necessary for the therapeutic process.

Sometimes life experiences can affect the well being of clients. Trauma has a tendency to "trick" our brains into thinking we are in danger when it is the trigger that creates the feeling of urgency. Our bodies remember the trauma even when we may not remember the event. I will walk clients through their experience and help them to engage both the reasoning and emotional parts of the brain to create a overall sense of balance, increase emotional awareness, and cope with triggers more effectively.
