Infused With Love Therapy

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MS, LMHC, KAP
Relationships are the foundation of growth. Without relationships, the ability to learn and hopefully grow is decreased. Since we all as people have different ways of thinking and learning, our communication styles may not always be what we think they are. When it comes to relationships, it most likely wont be the same as the person you're with; because we're all different. We focus on helping couples to improve their communication with each other and with themselves as well as strengthen their emotional connection. In order to achieve those goals, we work on building empathy, trust and mutual understanding while teaching skills such as active listening and problem solving.

Relationship issues cover a vast array of areas in our lives. We have relationships with our immediate families, extended families, friends, romantic partners, co-workers, and supervisors -- just to name a few! At times, these relationships can become complex, or even toxic to our well-being. Understanding how to best navigate your current relationships, and even uncover patterns of relating, can greatly improve your relationships and reduce overall stress in your life.

Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies

Psychologist, Ed.D., ABPP
Relationship counseling is a significant part my practice but in a unique way. I often work with one partner as the other either doesn't believe THEY have a problem or simply refuse to participate in relationship counseling. Based in part on my training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with many years of experience, I am often able to improve the relationship by working with the "willing partner". Sometimes this involves working on improving communication skills and or assertiveness. Other times, it may involve teaching behavior modification such as using social or tangible ways that improve receptiveness and cooperation over time. In other situations, it can involve helping client recognize how they may be inadvertently contributing to the kind of behavior they don't like. Almost always it involves a degree of helping the client accept the things they can't change and modify their own beliefs and self talk. My motto is "we do more than listen". Teaching clients new attitudes and strategies to improve their relationships is a very gratifying part of my work with clients.
