In my parent work I try and identify what influences the parent relationship such as culture and the parent own histories of parenting, in order to bring balance and new ways of communicating. Ultimately, my aim is to strengthen the parent-child relationship and to repair rupture.

Kingston is Jamaica's capital and cultural heart, where the mental health landscape is shaped by the pressures of urban poverty, crime, economic uncertainty, and a cultural environment in which mental health stigma has historically been significant but is gradually diminishing, particularly among younger Kingstonians. The University of the West Indies' Mona campus hosts Jamaica's primary psychology training programmes and operates a counselling service, and private practitioners are available primarily in New Kingston and the Half Way Tree area. Common therapy concerns include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and trauma, with identity and career transition issues increasingly prominent among younger adults. English-language therapy is universal in Jamaica, making access straightforward, though cost remains a meaningful barrier for much of the population.
